I know this will sound stupid since I posted it here, but hey, for us to have a discussion, I felt that we should have it out front. :)
Anyway: I only have trouble where the green of Goethe comes with the blue...I love the back cover more... the word Bol seems a little... I don't know, it reminds me of the Nazi swastik... I mean against the red background...and :) I don't know.. I love the back page more:) I love the yellow part and what you have done with the two faces...but.. :) I don't know. It's a wonderful start though, so lots of cheers for that.
And Jibran is right :) we can come here, babble a bit and then achieve nothing concrete, and go back to our lives so I guess we need to get together some place. Can we have consensus over when everyone is free? :)
Actually, I didn't wanted to put the 'Bol' logo but I thought it was necessary...But I would like to take it off if you all agree to it(the logo is plagiarized anyway). I wanted the cover to symbolize the 'identity crisis' that the women in pak are going through (tradition/religion and mordern).
But can I have more solutions in the comments. I actually took out old OUP books and followed their typo/illustrative methods (every printing press has their own). If we can convince the OUP to change their standard look then thats ok with me. More comments and solutions.....
perhaps we can move the bol-logo somewhere else? inside jacket? there could be a text telling about the writers, the group bol, then the logo, or something.
in general i am very impressed with the cover. thanks, gibran. are you in touch with the publisher?
what do the goethe-people (hallo petra!!), and the böll-people (hallo gregor!!) think?

norman
and another question:
has lahore dropped off the face of the earth?
(that's how it felt, anyways)
have mass-mailed my comments about the book cover to everyone, with a few images of book covers i have in mind.
i agree with maryam and norman, the bol logo might look better inside rather than at the front?
